Our story
Why we built MealMeow
MealMeow began with a question that many cat parents know well: Am I feeding my cat the right food?
For founder Evan T. Jiang, that question became personal at home. Like many devoted cat owners, he wanted to do the right thing. What he found instead was a category full of crowded store shelves, complex labels, inconsistent feeding advice, and too few tools that could turn nutrition guidance into a practical daily plan.
Evan studied veterinary nutrition references and the established formulas veterinarians use to estimate daily energy needs. The more he learned, the more he saw a gap between sound nutrition principles and the tools available to everyday cat parents.
“The core problem was not that information didn't exist. It was that cat parents still had to stitch everything together on their own—from calorie needs, to food choices, to portion planning.”
The result is MealMeow—a platform combining science-based calorie guidance, a structured cat food database, AI chat, meal-planning tools, and community-sharing features. Built not just to analyze nutrition data, but to make that data more usable for the people trying to do their best for the cats they love.
